Whitewater swimming
Feet up, ferry angle, breathe.
You will swim
Everyone swims eventually. The trick is swimming on purpose, not in a panic.
Position
feet up, downstream, toes visible body on your back, ferry angle arms scull to steer, not to fight breathe in the troughs, not the waves
Why it matters
Feet-up keeps you off the rocks. Ferry angle moves you toward shore. Panic is the only real enemy in the water.
